TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PURSUING PROJECT WORK AT IFGTB

Supervision

The students will be allowed to pursue project work under the guidance of Scientists/ Officers of the Institute, who will be the Guide / Supervisor or Co guide / Co supervisor.

The Institute will extend the following facilities:

  • Usage of the relevant laboratories and lab equipment
  • Expendables (Chemicals and other consumables)
  • Library, Computer and Internet  facilities
  • Transport relevant to the project work
  • Participation in the seminars and symposia organized by the Institute.
General conditions / norms

A minimum duration of 3 months will be permitted to carry out the project work. Regular attendance of the candidate will be ensured by the guide at the institute. Dissertation of candidates with less than 80% attendance will not be certified and forwarded by the Institute.

Due credits and acknowledgements by the candidate and college, for the guidance/ assistance received from the guide and the Institute should be mentioned in the dissertation and publications arising out of the project work.  Institutions violating this condition will not be considered for future programmes. On completion of project work, the dissertation will be duly endorsed by the Supervisor and a copy of the dissertation should be submitted to the Institute library.

Fees may be paid at the Institute Office during week days from 9 am to 5 pm in cash or by DD drawn in favour of the Director, IFGTB, Coimbatore. Payment of fees should be made within 15 days of approval.

In case the student fails to record a minimum of 80 % attendance, it shall be interpreted as lack of interest by the candidate to pursue project work. Such students shall not be allowed to pursue the work further and project so allotted shall be cancelled. The students shall be responsible for the safety of the instruments/ lab facilities which he/she is allowed to use and damages attributed to him shall be recovered from the caution deposit.

During the course of the project work, if the behaviour of the student does not fit within the accepted norms, rules and regulations of the Institute, the project work allotted will be cancelled and the student will stand disqualified from the project work. 

No accommodation will be provided for outstation candidates.

The Director, IFGTB will be the final authority to decide on the selection and admission of candidates for project work.
